Greensboro Has the Right Climate--For Life and For Your Education

Since the Revolutionary War days, Greensboro, North Carolina, has played an important role to the east coast. In 1781, it was the site of an important battle against the redcoats, which helped to lead to their eventual defeat in Yorktown months later. Then, in 1807, residents of the area paid $98 to purchase the land, named it after Nathanael Greene, the patriot commander, and made it the seat of local government.
